(NH) was established on 21 January 2004 (BS 2060-10-07) under the prevailing Company Act and registered with the Office of the Company Registrar, Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Government of Nepal. The company holds registration number 26795/060/061 and VAT number 301949651.
NH is a limited liability company specializing in studies, research, and consultancy services in natural resource management (NRM), socio-economic development, enterprise promotion, and climate change adaptation. Its core mission is to design sustainable management systems for natural resources to benefit communities heavily reliant on these resources.
NH operates as an autonomous organization, supported by a multidisciplinary roster of over 100 experts. These professionals have vast expertise in biodiversity, governance, ecosystem services, livelihoods, policy advocacy, and climate resilience. After a brief dormancy due to COVID-19, NH has resumed its activities and is currently led by its founding chairman, Dr. Hem Sagar Baral.
